This Saturday was the offical start of the holiday season at Woodbury Lakes! The weather put a bit of a damper on the event, but not our holiday spirit. The reindeer thought is was the North Pole (even if they were afraid of the plows!) and Santa was right at home in the winter wonderland. Thank you to everyone that came to celebrate with us!

Hot Mama opened its doors today! Let me tell you - it is a really great store. From helpful, knowledgable staff, to great styles and colors and fun jewelry, to an area with video games, toys and snacks for kids, this store is a great addition to Woodbury Lakes.　

The Edina-based company currently operates 19 stores in seven states. The store, a chic boutique that caters to moms, was the third "child" for a local couple, Mike and Megan Tamte.　

After a traumatizing trip to a department store after having her first baby, Megan decided to create a store that would help moms dress hip and fun while being age appropriate and figure flattering. Her hope is that moms walk out of the store feeling confident and "hot," and ready for the boardroom, soccer game or date night with their husband.

30th Annual Woodbury Country Mile

This past Sunday was the 30th Annual Woodbury Country Mile. Woodbury Lakes has sponsored and hosted the event for the past 5 years. Each year, it has grown and evolved. It is a beutiful, scenic race to use to train for Grandma's, spend time with the family or try your hand at a 5K for the first time. Here are a few photos from the event.

Fall is such a great time of year...the vibrant colors, fresh new crayons, brand new jeans and school shoes, the State Fair...but it also means the end of summer. We love hosting the Summer Concert Series and today was our last kid's concert. It's SO MUCH FUN to see the kids out dancing and playing, meeting new friends and not having a care in the world. So it is kind of bittersweet to have it come to an end.

Thanks so much for joining us this summer! We love having you. If you know of a great kid's band that we should have at next year's concert series, please leave us a note on our Facebook page!

This morning was the MacPhail Center for Music concert and we couldn't have ordered a better day! The sun was out, but it wasn't too hot, there wasn't a cloud in the sky - it was perfect! The kids had a lot of fun and so did the performers! It's hard to believe that next week is the end of the Summer Concert Series. Where has this summer gone? Pretty soon it is the State Fair and then back to school for the kiddos!

Summer Concert Series Kick-off

This week we kicked of the 2011 Summer Concert Series and it ROCKED! Mister Jim was our first kid's act on Wednesday morning. He drew the largest crowd we've had for our kid's concerts! Everyone had so much fun dancing and playing! Footprints Academy and Peace of Mind Daycare is so gracious - they provide FREE fair hair to all the kids.

On Thursday night, GB Leighton and his boys rocked the Summer Concert Series Stage. Talk about a great band! The courtyard was packed with over 400 people! At one point, he even got down off the stage and sang a song with the kids. It was pretty cute! Lakes Tavern & Grill was grilling and selling brats and hot dogs and they were so YUMMY!
Make sure to join us next week for Haley Bonar on Wednesday from 10-11 and Big Walter Smith on Thursday evening from 6:30-8:30!

We are getting ready to kick off our 2011 Summer Concert Series! This year, we have some excellent talent including GB Leighton, Tim Mahoney, Big Walter Smith and Mick Sterling.

Join us on Wednesday mornings from 10AM-11AM for music and interactive play for the kiddos. We'll have activities and free "Fair Hair" courtesy of Footprints Academy and Peace of Mind Daycare. Our first kid's concert is next Wednesday, July 13. Grab a blanket or a lawn chair and come out to see Mister Jim.

On Thursday evenings from 6:30-8:30, enjoy the sounds of rock, pop, blues and more! Lakes Tavern & Grill will be cooking out at the concerts, so grab a brat or a hot dog and enjoy the show! GB Leighton kicks off our concert season on Thursday, July 14.

We have some exciting news! Hot Mama and butters&beans will be opening at Woodbury Lakes this summer. Both are local tenants with great concepts that will fit extremely well with the mix of shops at Woodbury Lakes.

butters&beans, the fashion-centric, eco-friendly infant clothing line, is bringing its brightly colored and highly fashionable line of clothing and accessories to Woodbury Lakes on Thursday, July 21 and will offer clothing, accessories and toys for children.

The store will feature the locally made butters&beans line as well clothing and accessories from other local designers including Pop Frocks Apparel and TootyFruityMonkeyLuv Hair Accessories. They will also feature several nationally known designers such as aden+anais, Tea Collection and Isobella & Chloe.

Saturday was our 4th Annual Holiday Open House and it went wonderfully. There were special offers and discounts in the stores, reindeer sleigh rides, a reindeer petting zoo, free face painting and craft projects, a cookie decoration station, strolling carolers and costumed characters, and the Okee Dokee Brothers performed!

At 7PM, the Woodbury Fire Dept. escorted Santa down Main Street on a fire truck. Santa lit the 30' tall Christmas tree, which set off a dazzling fireworks show.

Charming Charlie opened today at Woodbury Lakes. I have to tell you, I am HOOKED! The store has a very boutique, upscale feel - dark wood and chandeliers everywhere. But then you look at the price tags and you think that there must be a misprint! Stop by and check them out - I promise, you'll be on the phone with your girlfriends telling them about this hot find. No wonder the International Council of Shopping Centers named Charming Charlie the hottest store of 2010!

Over the weekend, Woodbury Lakes hosted the first annual Woodbury Lakes Art Faire. Other than the severe weather that blew some of our tents over on Saturday night after the show ended, we are considering it a big success! 50 artists lined Main Street displaying and selling jewelry, paintings, apparel, garden sculptures, jellies and jams and more.

Between July 14 and August 18, join us on Wednesday mornings from 10-11AM for kid-focused bands with interactive music and play. Footprints Academy will offer kid-friendly activities and we'll provide a snack to the first 100 kids.

Calling all good little boys and girls! Santa will be making a few special appearances at Woodbury Lakes before he heads back to the North Pole to get Rudolph and his crew ready for the big day. He can be found strolling the mall on Saturday, December 19 and Sunday, December 20 from 10AM-5PM, and then on Wednesday, December 23 from 2PM-8PM. He'll stop by the Christmas tree near American Eagle every hour on the hour to pose for photos by the tree.

Fun with Santa for a Good Cause!

This past weekend, over 400 people joined us for horse-drawn carriage rides with Santa. We collected non-perishable food items for a local food shelf and ended up with more than 350 pounds of food! Thanks to all who came out for this wonderful event and for generously donating food items. We hope you'll join us again next year!

Visit Santa as he strolls the center every Saturday and Sunday until Christmas. At the top of the hour, Santa will stop by the Christmas Tree near American Eagle to take photos with families and the tree. (Santa will not be at the set between 11AM - 2:30PM on December 5 &6 because he will be busy listening to whispered wishes during the horse-drawn carriage rides on Main St.).

Cash for Class Starts Monday, 9/14!

Cash for Class is an incentive program designed to benefit local schools through cash awards. Students, families, friends, and educators are all encouraged to shop Woodbury Lakes and apply their receipts to their favorite participating school. Schools will receive one point for every dollar spent at Woodbury Lakes. The school with the highest point total at the end of the program wins the grand prize, cash!

Shoppers simply make a purchase at any store or restaurant at Woodbury Lakes during the program dates, September 14, 2009, thru May 14, 2010. There are three easy options for schools to receive their point credits:

Option 1: Keep your Receipts
Bring your original receipts to the Woodbury Lakes Management Office from 8:30AM to 5:00PM. A representative will record the purchase, stamp the receipt, and return the receipt to you before you leave.

Option 2: Quickest Option
Bring your original receipts and drop them off at the Woodbury Lakes Management Office. Please note: Your receipts will not be returned to you.

Option 3: Most Convenient Option
Your school can have its own receipt box in the school office for students and parents to drop off their receipts. This option is only available to families who do not want their receipts returned. A school representative must deliver the receipts from the box to Woodbury Lakes Management Office on a monthly basis.
